Event Details

Day 1 (August 10)

Choices Matter:

Complicity and Action During the Holocaust

Learn about the choices made by individuals during the Holocaust as a way to help students understand the dangers of complicity and how to make positive choices today. Participants will examine the roles of bystanders and upstanders in critical situations. Participants will explore artifacts and resources of the Maltz Museum.

Day 2 (August 11)

Teaching Media Literacy & Analyzing Propaganda:

The Holocaust as a Case Study

Media literacy skills are essential to critically and successfully navigate the ever-increasing amount of information delivered via social media, advertisements, television, and film. Participants will identify how media, both historically and in contemporary society, can be used as a tool to incite hate and violence against certain groups, examining propaganda through the lens of the Holocaust.
